Keeping well maintained roadworthy tyres is not just the preference for your vehicle; it is your legal responsibility. Being the only thing between your car and the road, having good quality tyres with plenty of tread are vital to your road safety, handling and performance.
PSM Tyres stock tyres from the leading manufacturers - such as Michelin, Pirelli and Dunlop - as well as the best of the mid- and budget-range manufacturers, such as Davanti, Avon and Landsail.
What’s my tyre size?.
The size of a tyre is on the sidewall of the tyre. When looking for the size, you will see a series of numbers and letters, such as 205/65/R15 95V. This number represents your tyre size.
The tyre size code provides information on tyre and construction, as well as their load-carrying capacity and speed rating. Take, for example, a tyre code of 205/65R15 95H.
205 indicates the regular section width of the tyre in millimetres (205mm).
65 indicates its aspect ratio, a comparison of the tyre’s section height with its section width (65 indicates the height is 65% of its width).
R indicates radial ply construction.
15 shows the nominal diameter of the wheel rim (15 inches).
95H is a symbol indicating the maximum load capacity and speed.
Budget or Premium Tyre?
When purchasing new tyres, our customers ask what the difference between budget and premium tyres is. At PSM Tyres we believe that a premium tyre will always be a better performing, safer and longer-lasting tyre. Budget tyres aren’t harmful or unsafe; they’re built for lower budgets.
A budget tyre has a lower price point in mind, budget tyres are built with more inferior quality materials, and different technology is used in their construction.
By comparison, a premium tyre is developed with one thing in mind; creating the best tyre possible. Premium tyre manufacturers will use the best materials available and include the most modern technologies in their development.
